Over the years, WorldProject has developed initiatives and collaborations that responded to specific needs identified in Uganda. Some began with our earliest projects and others have grown alongside Kikaya Medical Center and Bioksanland.

Education, prevention and safety

Colegio León XIII

Each academic year the school takes on one concrete need identified locally, from hygiene production to road and water safety.

  1. 2021

    Hygiene and local hydroalcoholic gel production

    Support for local production of hydroalcoholic gel, keeping manufacturing and supply in local hands.

  2. 2022

    Bicycle-powered washing machine — pilot project

    A pilot bicilavadora: a pedal-driven washing machine designed to cut the time and water spent on laundry where there is no grid electricity.

  3. 2023–2024

    Road safety, first aid, CPR and more than 400 helmets

    More than 400 helmets distributed to boda-boda riders, always paired with training in road safety, first aid and CPR.

  4. 2025

    More than 70 life jackets

    More than 70 life jackets delivered to fishing crews working on Lake Victoria, together with basic water-safety guidance.

  5. Next

    Swimming and water safety

    A swimming and water-safety project is currently in development; lessons have not started yet.

Their support has followed the organisation's own evolution: from the first works on Zinga Island to water, energy and mobility projects connected to Bioksanland.

    40 hp engine for the Bokerón, fencing and access at Zinga

    A 40 hp engine for the Bokerón boat, plus fencing and access works on Zinga Island.

  2. 2020

    Medical equipment for the Zinga clinic

    Equipment for the clinic on Zinga Island, improving basic diagnosis and care capacity.

  3. 2020–2021

    Support for local hydrogel production

    Support for the local hydrogel production project, reinforcing hygiene supply during the pandemic years.

  4. 2021–2022

    Partial funding of the biogas pilot

    Partial funding of the biogas pilot project, turning organic waste into cooking energy on site.

  5. 2023

    Water filtration system developed with Wedev Water

    A water filtration system developed with Wedev Water, starting at approximately 250 L/h and later reaching approximately 500 L/h.

  6. 2024

    Sustainable health-mobility pilot with a Tuk Tuk

    Support for a pilot project to convert a Tuk Tuk for sustainable health mobility. The conversion is a project in development and has not been confirmed as completed.
